It all began in 2022.. two people both in the dating world, opted for online dating to meet "the one" on an app known as Hinge. They both just hadn't found what they were looking for, but little did they know, one swipe would change their lives forever.
Shortly after their profiles matched, Drew began to message Kara and they instantly hit it off. Chatting for multiple days, Drew decided to ask Kara out on a date. BUT Kara was nervous to meet and wanted to get to know him more, so she may have told a little white lie and said she had Covid! To be fair, she did have it the week before and could've just been taking extra measures to keep both of them safe!
After Kara's extra week of quarantine and maybe a Garth Brooks concert with her dad, Drew was persistent, continuing to ask Kara out, and she finally agreed. They set the date, Friday, May 27th -the beginning of Memorial Day weekend- to meet after work for Axe throwing. Such a romantic first date! haha
On the day of, Kara being her usual nervous self, with a little bit of liquid courage & waiting a bit in the parking lot, she could see Drew tying his shoe lace on the bed of his truck and instantly thought, OK much cuter in person! They finally met inside and were practically the only two people at the Axe throwing bar. Kara was shy at first and Drew was very talkative, asking her about horror stories from the world of online dating. When their time was up for Axe throwing, Drew suggested they grab a bite to eat. So they headed off to a local Mexican restaurant, Condesa!
Once seated, they began to order and Drew decided, this first date was a good time to show off his tolerance of spicy food. So he ordered the HOTTEST salsa they had... When the salsa came he offered it to Kara, someone who thinks buffalo sauce is really hot, so naturally she declined. Drew however, did not hold back and proceeded to eat a chip loaded with the salsa. Within seconds, Drew was regretting his decision; coughing, eyes watering, and sweat dripping down his face. He even began to sneeze and after collecting himself smiled at Kara, red faced and winded... the two began to laugh.
Lucky for Drew his mishap wouldn't be the last, but the first of many as this was 1 of 3 dates they would go on that weekend. Gaspee Day Art Festival & dinner at Basta on Saturday followed by an Eva meet and greet with a BBQ at Drew's Lake house on Monday! These would become the first of many amazing dates which bring us right back together 3 years later, sharing this Memorial Day weekend with all of you as it holds a very special place in the couple's hearts!
